Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D IMAX World Premiere
March 13, 2008.The Wendts (George, Pam, Clavey, Tyler) and our marketing director, Steve Markle, made the journey to NYC for the world premier of Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D. We are still awaiting details from our contingency, but here are some pictures Unca John found for us this morning.
The movie chronicles environmental heroes Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Wade Davis, along with their daughters, as they journey down the Colorado River to raise awareness about the world’s growing shortage of fresh water. O.A.R.S. provided production support as well as promotional support in the form of a national sweepstakes with a chance to win a 15-day Grand Canyon rafting trip for two. The film features songs and music by Dave Matthews Band and an original score co-composed by the Dave Matthews Band’s Stefan Lessard and Steve Wood.
The film will begin showing in Northern California on March 21 at Esquire IMAX Theatre in Sacramento. The theatre’s screen is 80 feet wide by 60 feet tall: the total square footage is about the same as the basketball court at ARCO Arena. Every seat in the house offers an immersive experience with 12,000 watts of digital wrap-around sound and polarized glasses for 3D viewing (provided by Esquire).
